NSN Professional Services

How to Build an Armory

When ordering through GCSS-A or FedLog, customers receive product only. There are no professional services or ancillary items included on National Stock Number orders.

Many units however prefer to have weapon racks, shelving, workbenches and mobile carriage systems bundled and installed.

So then how do units get professional services when purchasing NSNs? The answer is simple, utilize a MIPR/MILSTRIP with DLA’s TLSP contract. Purchasing through an IDIQ allows units to get their NSN products, any ancillary items and professional services for turnkey armory installations.

Arms room site visits are the crux of what we do. Going over in detail your MTOE (weapon density list) and reviewing the layout of your armory allows us to know not just how many weapon racks or sections of weapon shelving are required to store everything, they also let us know the size limitations.

Things to consider in arms rooms, placement of IDS (should never be obstructed), where your doors and issue windows are located so they are also not obstructed, building columns, power receptacles, internet drops, overhead lights and also the fire sprinklers.

Knowing all of these parameters, we measure your space and are able to put together a CAD drawing showing a plan view storage layout that keeps your work space in the armory clear and concise.

Weapon Rack Installation is important for multiple reasons.

Military armories have a 500 lb. physical security requirement for small arms storage racks, requiring weapon racks to exceed 500 lbs. or be bolted to the facility. When purchasing National Stock Numbers, units must perform their own installation of small arms storage racks including receiving the materials, inside delivering, standing cabinets up, leveling, anchoring and bolting side to side, back to back or to the wall.

Combat Weapon Storage provides licensed installation services for static weapon racks, high density weapon racks, workbenches, shelving. Installing materials ensures product is installed correctly and meets the last step for storage of small arms, to attach the small arms storage racks to the facility.
